Please do not use SatNav; the postcode covers a large area and it will leave you at the side of Buttermere Lake!

Cragg House Farm is located at NY 173 171. It can be found on the Ordnance Survey OS Landranger maps of 89 (West Cumbria) and 90 (Penrith and Keswick) and also on their Explorer map OL4 (English Lakes NW) area.

From Keswick: Follow signs to Borrowdale (B5289), continue through Rosthwaite, Seatoller and over Honister Pass. Continue past Buttermere lake into Buttermere village. Keep on the main road (B5289), past the Bridge Hotel and up the hill for about 750 metres. Cragg House Farm is on the left on the brow of the hill before you get to the National Trust carpark.

From Carlisle or in icy conditions: From A66, take the A5086 in to Cockermouth. At the traffic lights continue straight on past the Fire Station and a garage on your right. After approximately 75 metres, go straight over the mini roundabout until you reach the traffic lights. Turn right at the lights on to Lorton Road the B5292(it is one-way so you can't go any other direction!). Stay on this road for approximately 3 miles. As you approach Lorton village, stay on the main road which heads slightly to the right as it becomes the B5289. After about 300 metres continue sharp right on the main road through the village of Lorton and past the Wheatsheaf Pub. After another 2.5 miles take a left turn, signposted Buttermere (still the B5289). Continue to Buttermere village past the village sign on your left and a National Trust car park on your right. Cragg Farm is the first set of buildings on the right hand side.
